My brother Malcolm Nicol of Ballogie Estate Enterprises and I have decided to hold a Commemorative meal at The Potarch Hotel on the evening of Thursday, 31st January 2013.  

This is 60 years to the day, of the Great Gale of 1953. This was called the worst gale to hit Scotland in 500 years and which caused great devastation to so much of the forests of Deeside.    We are selling tickets at £ 22 per head on a first come served basis and we are particularly keen to welcome along folk who have a memory of the gale.   

We hope to build on this event and start a collection and make a full archive of this event.
